As a sheriff, I face all kinds of criminals. Investigating shootings, preventing assaults, maintaining public order — all are part of the job. But increasingly, law enforcement professionals are facing threats and challenges like we have never seen. Where criminals of years past were locals who called Oklahoma home, we’ve increasingly seen those committing crimes in our state come from elsewhere.
Coming from other states or countries, these perpetrators have created new challenges. Often, these criminals use tools other than just guns or knives. One tool we have repeatedly encountered among this new class of criminals are anonymous shell companies.
